How can I join?

New Members are always welcome as they form the lifeblood of the Society, carrying forward our traditions and bringing variety and interesting diversity to our social enjoyment. The number of Members is limited to one hundred, exclusive of Life Members, Honorary Members and the Council.

Prospective new members will typically have been introduced as guests of existing members at dinners. However, if you are Scottish or have close connections to Scotland or Scottish Institutions, applications can be made in the first instance to the Society’s Secretary, who can arrange for you to be introduced to the Society. This is then followed by a formal proposal and seconding by members to the Council. New members are then elected, and presented to the President who will present them with the Silver Badge of membership.
